Last week, incubator 1776 welcomed a Chinese delegation.
Fifth Tribe’s Adam Motiwala was invited to speak on how to cultivate innovation within the government.
The 20+ members of the delegation included directors from the National Development and Reform Commission, Cyberspace Administration of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Commerce. The delegation was particularly interested in Fifth Tribe’s experience with working with different cities, as well as the dynamic of collaborating with governments within those cities.
The conversation kicked off with a short introduction to the Fifth Tribe team and our services within the design, marketing, and technology spaces. Adam shared key learnings from our experience working in the public sector; for example, he presented “do’s and don’ts” and public sector innovation tips. Fifth Tribe has worked as a subcontractor on several projects for the US government. Our current and previous clients include: the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. State Department, U.S. Air Force, and the Peace Corps.
With an engaged delegation and the help of reliable interpreters, the talk was wrapped up with a Q&A session.
